The title 'Integrated HealthCare Advisor' is intended to convey this multi-faceted approach to health. To provide a more comprehensive picture of some of the numerous influences, each of the various sections, which follow, offer brief outline descriptions. Astrological CounsellorA service to provide information and guidance with regard to the client's mental, emotional and physical characteristics. Individuality and Personality portraits can be ascertained by a proper interpretation of the client's horoscope or birthchart. Indications are given to highlight various potentials in many areas including attitudes, security, relationships and career. Character Profiles for Different LevelsEveryone recognises that their outer mode of behaviour is very often quite different to what may be termed their inner urges and tendencies. A unique combination of three separate birthcharts will illuminate more of your character traits than can the traditional birthchart taken by itself. In addition to a worldly analysis of the birth pattern, a spiritual interpretation is offered to guide the client as to which karmic traits are involved. Suggestions are provided as to how one may 'neutralise' the effects of certain elemental tendencies, which may be retarding uplift in consciousness. Forecast ProfilesForecasting trends can be given to indicate the rhythmic nature of our lives. Astrology is able to show which phases of planetary cycles we are currently experiencing for any particular activity. Beginnings and Endings can be "felt" by some people and the planetary cycles inherent in Astrology provide confirmation of those inner promptings.Relationship ProfilesA service that can be used to evaluate platonic friendships; love relationships or even business associateships between any two people. The report includes descriptions of relationship compatibility as well as each person's own strengths and challenges in any relationship. Relocation ProfilesAlthough the influence of the Natal Birthchart remains with a person for their entire lifespan, the Relocation Chart provides additional themes and issues, which will be particularly relevant for the new location. The energies of the new location provide the individual, moving there, the means and urge to perform the necessary karmic actions and dramas on the current life stage. Personal ContactComputer techniques now greatly assist the astrologer with the many kinds of calculations needed before making the appropriate syntheses and interpretations. However, the presence of a living astrologer is always necessary to provide appropriate, specific mental insights and counselling support to his living clients. This live contact is assured by having a one-to-one consultation in person, through letter-mail, by telephone or any combination of these three media. |
In today's world of fast food, irregular eating times, stresses in the home and at work, many people find themselves falling ill due to lack of nutritional awareness.. It is essential to know what to eat and when as well as avoiding those items containing artificial preservatives, colourings and additives. Junk foods may 'taste' nice but, taken over the long term, are not life-enhancing. The intake of nourishment must ensure an adequate presence of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids, complex carbohydrates, essential fatty acids, natural fibres and colourings. These principal factors can only be found in what are called 'whole' foods which are, ideally, eaten in the raw state, where possible, or cooked only very lightly. Foods that have been heat-treated, refined, bleached and chemically spoiled are to be avoided since they represent a high disordering in intrinsic life force. Living foods, which are high in vitality or life force, are said to be highly ordered and therefore very beneficial to us. Good food values are a reflection of such factors as soil type, natural fertilisers, water quality and simple, organic agricultural methods. Biological TransmutationsThere are many naturopathic practitioners and nutritional therapists who now recognise that the human body has the capability of performing the amazing function of changing one chemical element into another. This phenomenon is known as Biological Transmutation. In practical terms it means that, for example, a requirement of the body for the element of Calcium may be obtained simply by eating foods high in the element of Silicon. A specific function within the body transmutes Silicon into Calcium at ordinary levels of energy within the body but in the presence of moderate to high levels of Chi, Prana or Life Force Vitality. A similar process occurs whereby the element Manganese transmutes into the element of Iron. Thus it is not necessary to eat foods containing readily available Calcium or Iron since the body possesses the capability of transmuting other elements to meet its requirements. Food-Form FoodsSixty years ago, Albert Szent Gyorgi isolated Ascorbic Acid from food and this, today, is sold as an anomalous food fraction in the form of Vitamin C. He also discovered that isolated vitamins and minerals are not nearly so useful to the body as when they are taken as part of a whole food. The latter naturally contains the complex enzyme systems and other food factors that amplify their action. Unfortunately, this important knowledge was forgotten and today, vitamin and mineral supplements are usually compounded from numerous isolated nutrients but unlike the way Nature provides them in whole foods. For example, in Nature, Vitamin C is found in biological complexes bonded to proteins, carbohydrates, lipids and other food fractions. These are the natural forms of Vitamin C that the body is designed to use. When we feed isolated ascorbic acid to the body, very useful though it may be, it has to work much harder to adapt and to incorporate this type of vitamin. The new "Ultra Food Form" products provide a concentrated source of vitamins, minerals and enzymes which are truly bonded to proteins, carbohydrates and lipids in exactly the same way as Nature provides in the living planetary biosphere. Food Form ProductionWhatever bonded vitamin or mineral substances are required, the isolated forms are supplied and fed to a bacterial culture of Saccharomyces Cerevesiae in a large vessel. In addition, appropriate wholefoods, needed for the culture's growth, are added. The culture absorbs and digests its food, incorporating the vitamins/minerals into its own cellular structures. It is somewhat analogous to the process of culturing yogurt, although no milk is employed in the procedure. When the culture's growth is completed, it is harvested. The desired vitamins/minerals in the culture are now in the form of natural complexes, biologically bonded to protein, carbohydrate and lipid food molecules, as it would be in any food. The culture is then carefully spray dried and tableted. Additionally, before the culture is dried, it is carefully pre-digested, using natural papaya and pineapple enzymes. Through this pre-digestion step, people with allergies or digestive problems, will find it comparatively easier to absorb the food-form food with complete comfort. As well as paying attention to the quality of food and water that we put into our bodies, we must ensure that as much of the waste matter, that the body cannot use, is properly expelled through the four organs of elimination (bowel, bladder, lungs and skin). To this end we must ensure that we always eat wholefoods high in fibre and water content. The zeal and attention we give to keeping our external skin surfaces clean must be equally applied to all the internal areas over which food and waste matter passes. This is especially true for the large intestine or colon since this organ is energetically linked to all the other major internal organs. If we keep the colon clean, then 90% of internal hygiene has been achieved. Apart from wholefoods with fibre and high water content, there are several methods for inner cleansing and include fruit and vegetable juice therapies; the grape cure; aloe vera intakes; colonic irrigations; oxygen therapies and applications of certain colloidal solutions. Skin surfaces, exposed regularly to fresh air and clean water, produce effects that have a very beneficial effect upon many internal bodily organs, tissues and functions. Correct illumination by sunlight will provide effective stimulation of glandular secretions within the body. Negatively charged electrical ions, in the air that we breathe, ensure vital cellular activity via nutrient absorption and toxin elimination. Our bodies are comprised of large numbers of cells with many types and functions, each of which works like a single unit but also being in harmony with others around it. Every night, while we sleep, a total of 500+ million cells die and these have to be replaced with new 'daughter cells'. In order that the new cells are properly regenerated, the body requires foods, which contain all the essential nutrients of protein, carbohydrate, fats, vitamins, minerals, enzymes and numerous 'trace' elements. The subtle life quality we call 'vitality' must also be present in the foods we eat and this comes from fresh, raw or living foods. Improper eating or an insufficiency of the above factors will result in 'ageing cells', the effect of which we see on the surface of our bodies as wrinkles, grey hair, poor muscle tone, lack of eye sparkle together with a feeling of general tiredness. It is also necessary to ensure that the presence of 'free radicals' within cellular systems is eradicated or kept to a minimum. Certain foods will provide those nutrient factors capable of neutralising the electrically charged free radical activity. Water and De-HydrationA widespread but, as yet, little known problem for the body occurs in the phenomenon of De-Hydration. Recent research has indicated that common bodily symptoms, hitherto thought to be illnesses in themselves by most physicians, are now recognised as the body's signals for thirst!! These symptoms include obesity; asthma; allergies; hiatus hernia; diabetes; dyspepsia; colitis; angina; rheumatoid arthritis; backache; headaches; stress; depression; hypertension and high cholesterol. As a therapist, I would now advise a client to increase their daily intake of pure water, together with a measured portion of Full Spectrum Celtic sea-Salt. The body uses this type of mineral salt and trace elements to assist in the Re-Hydration of all cells, tissues and organs within itself. Soil Based Organisms (SBOs)Another aspect of regenerating the body involves keeping the large and small intestines clean and functional with the appropriate assistance of a healthy internal population of intestinal micro-organisms. As well as being host to the familiar Lacto-bacillus family, it has been discovered that there are several other micro-organisms which can thrive inside the human body. These are called Soil Based Organisms (SBOs). This family of bacilli normally lives in the soil but when we, as humans, eat raw fruits and vegetables, (uncontaminated by agricultural pesticides and other chemicals), these SBOs will live quite happily in their human host providing many benefits. These include:
In addition to being mindful of good physical health practices, we have to take steps to ensure a high vitality within ourselves. This vitality is a reflection of the life force inherent in all living systems. To feel vital and alive, we must eat those foods that are themselves living. We do not need to eat foods high in calorific or heat values but should ensure that the foods are high in order or vitality. This ordering property comes from the inherent life force itself, the Chi or Prana mentioned earlier. Natural electrical and magnetic fields in the body form part of these high ordering or low entropy values of the natural life forces. Conversely, if we eat over-cooked, dead and stale foods, then the original 'high order' life force, present before cooking, becomes dis-ordered and eventually broken up to dissipate and transform into calorific (heat) qualities. This waste of metabolic warmth merges into the background heat of the physical plane, adding to the ongoing processes of increased disorder (entropy). The result is that we will also feel like death warmed up with illnesses and physical death not too far away. To maintain the state of feeling alive, we can help the body by fasting or abstaining from these dead foods, taking in only living foods in the form of juices etc. When not digesting and absorbing nutrients, the body is free to engage in the elimination of waste matter or regenerating the immune system and other bodily functions/organs. Fasting is thus a way of promoting these two latter processes and can be done in several ways. The use of Essential Oils as an adjunct to promoting health and well-being has become an ever-increasing tool in many Complementary Health practices. There are now about 165 oils, derived from plants, flowers, trees, shrubs and bushes and which are documented in various books. Some are not for therapeutic applications but may be used in industrial processes. The properties of oils are classified in several ways and each can be used by a qualified aromatherapist to enhance health and well-being. Applications include massage, vapourisation, in baths and for inhaling via pillows, pot-pourri or handkerchiefs. Back to Top In addition to all of the previous factors mentioned above, recognition should be paid to numerous Environmental factors, which can adversely affect our health and well-being. Heat, Cold, Dryness and WetnessAttention must be given to the local weather conditions and overall climate in which one habitually lives. Heat, Cold, Dryness and Wetness are the four primary factors from which our weather and climate derives. The same four conditions also comprise our basic constitution from birth as the four elements of Fire, Earth, Air and Water, respectively. It behoves us to ensure that our constitution and the local climate bear some mutual resemblance and balance. Electrically Charged IonsThese ions in the atmosphere (positive and negative) play a big role in determining how we feel, affecting both physical and emotional well-being. A surplus of positively charged ions leaves us feeling dull and lethargic whereas a surfeit of negatively charged ions promotes alertness and vitality. Chemical PollutionThis is familiar to us all and takes many forms ranging from contamination by asbestos; acid rain; vehicle exhaust gases and particulates; industrial effluent poisons in rivers and agricultural chemicals entering the drinking water systems. Electro-Magnetic (E/M) RadiationThis plays an ever-increasing role in the technological age. With the thinning of the high altitude ozone layer over both polar regions and cities, all of us are being exposed to higher levels of the Ultra-Violet (UV) spectrum of solar energies. However, it is the E/M radiation from man-made sources pervading our homes and work environment, which should give us the most concern for taking steps to minimising its effects. Sources include over-head power lines; VDUs; TV consoles; micro-wave ovens; mobile telephones and micro-wave communications' antennae. All of these pollution parameters, together with others not listed, impinge on our living body/mind systems. The Immune System functions are readily compromised when more of these parameters act on us simultaneously. Some measures of protection can be adopted but the best prevention is maximum avoidance of as many pollution factors as possible consistent with other considerations such as needing a home to live in and having some kind of suitable employment. The Earth's Magnetic Field has decreased in strength by approximately 90% over the last four thousand years and it is now recognised that this GeoMagnetic Field is an essential Environmental Factor for life on this planet. The human body is capable of tremendous feats of adaptation to changing environmental factors but it seems reasonable to assume that, when these external factors reach an extreme in their range, there comes a corresponding loss of Physiological Vitality and Efficiency in all the functions of the body. To compensate for the weakening values of the geomagnetic field, several research therapists have successfully applied the rejuvenating effects of man-made magnetic fields through the judicious placements of Rare-Earth Magnets on and around the human body. The increasing density of gaseous pollutions in the atmosphere means that our necessary oxygen levels in city and urban areas are actually decreasing, down to an unbelievable 10% in some instances, the normal proportion being 21% of total atmospheric constituents! There are prophylactic measures, which one can take to raise the oxygen levels within the body's tissues and bloodstream, effectively restoring the body's immune functions to normality. In addition to stresses produced by man-made factors outlined above, research has shown that natural radiation from within the Earth becomes distorted when passing through certain rock layer formations. This radiation manifests in the form of a network of grid lines, which can be detected by the process of dowsing or radiesthesia. It becomes necessary only to map these energy grids in homes and offices and then move certain furniture outside the influence of these stressful energies. A Dowsing Service can be provided to ensure that your exposure to discordant energies is removed or, at least, minimised. Many European Institutions now require a survey of possible Geopathic stress in a client's home or working environment as a pre-requisite before a practitioner will undertake to provide either allopathic (orthodox) or complementary therapies. Everyone has heard of the need for regular daily exercise in one form or another. However, owing to an increase of the average person's daily work schedule, their stress levels or indulging in easily available entertainment, e.g., the typical TV 'Couch Potato' syndrome, etc., the taking of regular exercise has fallen low on the scale of priorities. There are many types of exercise in vogue ranging from the simple act of walking to the hectic activity of the game of squash. In addition to the body's nightly need for restful sleep, we also require proper rest and relaxation during our waking hours. A restful state is necessary for body, emotions and mind in order to recuperate effectively for further action and thinking. However, cessation of normal bodily and mental energies enables the mind to enter other states of consciousness. Two such states we are all familiar with, namely dreaming and dreamless sleep. Other states, which can be arrived at, are the higher mind levels of intuitive creativity and meditational levels of inner peace and tranquillity. The energies, which are tapped in these other mind states, are as much a form of nourishment to the multi-level mind as physical food is to the body. There are several techniques available to provide the rest and relaxation that we all need on a daily basis. Some include the natural forms of yoga, Tai Chi, Chi Kung and Yogic Breathing but modern technology can also help with externally produced wave patterns which induce the mind to cease its restless chatter thus allowing it to enter various relaxed states. Every HealthCare practitioner has only a limited range of knowledge and experience upon which he can draw to help and advise a prospective client. At the initial stages of a practitioner/client relationship, a realisation sometimes occurs that the practitioner's skills do not match the requirements of the prospective client. There is then no hesitation on the part of the practitioner to refer the client to another practitioner who would be able to be of better help and support for the client's needs. Brian Smith was born and educated in the U.K. Following graduation from Imperial College at London University, his first career venture was as a research scientist making observations in the fields of meteorology and geophysics. His investigations involved work at remote polar observatories in the Arctic and Antarctic regions for various universities and government departments in the U.S.A, U.K. and Canada. The work entailed much travel with time spent in 37 countries on 7 continents before the age of 30. This frequent travelling provided much experience of the planet's numerous environmental influences and how people from the poles to the equator are affected in different ways. After 12 years of this outer planetary science, the destiny path took on a more inward direction in 1975. Interests began to focus on physical health and the inner weather of individuals through the complementary arts and sciences. These included nutrition, naturopathy, astrology, philosophy and psychology as the main topics. Simultaneously, a spiritual dimension of life presented itself with meditation becoming a daily part of living from 1977 onwards. Planetary travels continued but the motive for such trekking was to enhance knowledge and experience of the inner nature of humanity. As the understanding grew from the University of Life, Brian began to give advice to others through astrological and nutritional counselling. These services have been maintained up to the present day whilst continuing to improve and refine the comprehension of how things work the way they do.
